Job Description: Shipping & Receiving

Position Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving is responsible for managing all aspects of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. This role involves handling inventory, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining organized records to support smooth warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Duties:

• Prepare, package, and label outbound shipments according to company and carrier requirements.
• Generate shipping documents, including invoices, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate with customers or internal departments regarding shipment status and delays.

Receiving Duties:

• Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Record received items in inventory systems and update stock levels accordingly.
• Identify and report any damaged or missing items.
• Ensure proper storage and organization of received goods in the warehouse.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
• Work with warehouse and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Adhere to OSHA and other industry regulations regarding handling and storage.
• Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed (certification may be required).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or supply chain education is a plus.
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
• Proficiency in using inventory management or shipping software.
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse setting with moderate to heavy lifting.
• Frequent use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Must be a team player with strong collaboration skills.
