Commercial Real Estate Attorney

We are working with a growing New York City real estate law firm seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney to take a central role in its sophisticated leasing practice. This is a senior, hands-on position for an attorney who can independently manage complex commercial leasing matters, work directly with clients and brokers, and take ownership of transactions from initial negotiation through execution. The firm has an established pipeline of sophisticated leasing work. Portable business is not required. What You Will Handle Draft and negotiate sophisticated commercial leases on behalf of landlords and tenants Independently manage leasing transactions from initial deal terms through execution Advise clients on business and legal issues affecting lease negotiations Work directly with clients, brokers, opposing counsel, and other transaction participants Handle lease amendments, assignments, subleases, guaranties and related leasing documents Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and provide practical, business-oriented solutions Take meaningful ownership of an established commercial leasing workload What This Role Offers Immediate responsibility for sophisticated commercial leasing matters An established pipeline of work - no portable book required Significant direct interaction with clients and brokers Autonomy to manage matters without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy Direct access to firm leadership A long-term opportunity to become an integral part of a growing boutique real estate practice Opportunity for attorneys who want to practice at a high level while remaining focused on substantive legal work rather than business generation Ideal Background 7+ years of commercial real estate experience Significant concentration in commercial leasing Strong drafting and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability to independently manage sophisticated lease transactions Comfortable advising clients on both legal and business considerations Strong presence and communication skills with clients, brokers and counterparties Practical, commercially minded approach to getting transactions completed New York bar admission Broader experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financing or other commercial real estate transactions is welcome, but the attorney should be comfortable with commercial leasing comprising the substantial majority of the practice .
