Portfolio Finance Specialist

Job Description

Our client is looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to join the Portfolio Finance team. The team is primarily responsible for oversight of leverage and financing costs and serves as a key control and analytical function between the investment teams, and other Treasury and Middle Office functions.

Responsibilities:

• Track and analyze daily margin and financing costs across prime brokerage, repo, total return swaps, and margin loans.
\n
• Manage the firm’s methodology for allocating financing costs across strategies and asset classes, including efficiency metrics.
\n
• Execute repo trades across a range of fixed income and credit products.
\n
• Arrange securities borrowing for short positions while keeping borrow costs as low as possible.
\n
• Monitor the firm’s FX exposures and put appropriate hedges in place.
\n
• Work closely with internal teams, including:
\n
• Investment professionals, to explain how financing affects current and future investment strategies.
\n
• The Treasury team, on liquidity management and the reinvestment of excess cash.
\n
• Middle Office teams, on trade support and cash wires.
\n
• Manage day-to-day relationships with prime brokers, repo desks, stock loan desks, and other financing counterparties.
\n
• Look for ways to improve processes, analytics, and reporting.
