We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing CPA firm. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with individuals and small businesses in a collaborative office environment with strong client relationships and year-round variety in tax and accounting work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for:
- Individuals
- Partnerships
- S Corporations
- Corporations
- Trusts and estates
- Review client financial records and supporting documentation
- Communicate with clients regarding tax questions, missing information, and planning opportunities
- Assist with tax planning and projections
- Prepare and review bookkeeping and adjusting journal entries as needed
- Research tax issues and apply current tax law
- Support clients with notices and correspondence from taxing authorities
- Participate in year-end accounting and payroll projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA license or CPA candidate preferred
- 2+ years of public accounting or tax preparation experience preferred
- Experience with individual and business tax returns
- Knowledge of federal, Pennsylvania, and local tax filings preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines during busy season
- Professional communication and client service skills
- Experience with tax software and QuickBooks preferred
