Salary is commensurate with credential and experience. Course Description A consideration of the development of gender identity and gender socialization in a social context; how notions of femininity and masculinity are shaped within various social institutions—family, work, media, education—and how these social definitions change across the life course. Emphasis on how gender relations vary across communities—race and ethnicity, sexuality, age, socioeconomic class, and nationality. Qualifications A master's degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, employment must be performed within California. Preferred Qualifications A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field Higher education experience teaching Sociology and/or Criminology & Justice Studies Preference for applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community.
