Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care in PACU, including Phase I and Phase II recovery
- Assess and monitor patient status: vitals, incision sites, temperature, airway, and signs of stability or complications
- Administer medications and manage analgesia per orders; support patient recovery milestones
- Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams; communicate plan and changes to the care team
- Utilize unit equipment and systems (e.g., Meditech, PCA pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV pumps, Cryocuff, SCDs, Bair PAWS warmers, HP/Phillips monitors) and document care efficiently
- Maintain patient safety, prepare for transfer or discharge from PACU per protocol

Requirements
- Hawaii RN license active by start date (must apply if not currently in possession at acceptance)
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- 2+ years of critical care nursing (ER/ICU) in a hospital setting, or 2+ years PACU experience as a substitute for PACU-specific experience
- PALS recommended and may be required for certain positions; other specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) may be preferred or required for specific assignments
- Ability to work in a PACU/ASU environment; shifts vary; on-call 0–3 times per month
