Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable SpecialistThe Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, working with Project Managers and Vendors to resolve concerns. This individual will also provide daily reception relief for the receptionist. Other accounting and administrative duties will be assigned, as needed.Essential FunctionsAccurately reviews, codes, and inputs A/P invoices for Clarkson Construction and subsidiary companiesReviews all invoices and communicates with field/project management for appropriate documentationPrioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms1099 maintenanceReconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies; respond to all vendor inquiriesCommunicate with invoice approvers to ensure timely processing of invoicesAssist in month-end closingMaintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practicesAssist with other projects as neededOversee proper file and data managementProvide reception relief and accurately screen and direct callers to appropriate personnelSort and distribute incoming mailProvide other administrative assistance, as neededQualification Requirements1+ years of related experience or college/work equivalentAbility to understand and learn software/tools related to Accounts Payable quicklyPhysical And Other RequirementsProfessional appearance and behaviorExcellent customer service skillsExceptional oral and written communicationsSelf-starter with ability to work independently, with advanced attention to detailsStrong time management and organizational skillsHigh level of integrity, with confidentiality and discretionSound judgment and problem-solving abilitiesClarkson Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
