Shape AbbVie's future by translating legal complexity into strategic opportunity. As an Associate General Counsel, you will provide high-level support across business functions and geographies, balancing risk with innovation. This role bridges the legal, policy, and operational worlds by driving informed decision-making, leading cross-functional initiatives, and building the readiness required to operate in an evolving global environment.

Responsibilities

List up to 10 main responsibilities for the job. Include information about the accountability and scope.

• Advise senior leaders and business partners on complex legal and regulatory matters that impact commercial operations, policy, or enterprise strategy.
  Lead or co-lead legal strategies for key initiatives, including product development, market access, or international operations
  Interpret laws, policies, and enforcement trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  Serve as a connector between Legal and cross-functional groups.
  Manage legal input for high-impact business transaction

Qualifications

List required and preferred qualifications (up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.

• Required:
  Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  Active license to practice law in job location
  Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, including in-house or cross-functional legal advisory roles
  Preferred:
  Background in life sciences, healthcare, or a highly regulated global industry
  Demonstrated experience managing legal complexity across markets or functions
  Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through ambiguity
  Strong strategic thinking, judgement, and busin

• The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ​

• This job is eligible to participate in our long-term incentive programs.
