Duties

Help

• You serve as an authoritative source of advice on the formulation of command budget estimates and
  guidance for assigned departments and organizations
• You will provide financial analysis for the Provost, Vice Provost, and other academic leadership to improve quality of financial data.
• You will develop instructional methods; analyzing/evaluating work accomplished reporting status and progress of academic operations.
• You will evaluate accounting and financial management problems, procedures, methods, and systems to present clear and logical proposals regarding problem resolution.
• You will coordinate and support technical restructure of accounting hierarchy, accounting logic and controls as needed for the Navy ERP system.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ( GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:: 1) Providing support to organizations with an annual operating budget in excess of $200 million; 2) Utilizing and advising on the full range of functionality and applicability of a variety of DoD financial management systems such as: Standard Accounting and Budget Reporting, System (SABRS), the Consolidated Financial Management System, Consolidated (CFMS-C) Standard Labor Data Collection and Distribution Application (SLDCADA), Defense Travel System (DTS) and the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; 3)Providing direction to academic leadership and administrative staff relative to appropriated and reimbursable fund accounting and DoD and DoN regulatory and policy compliance; and 4) Providing dedicated financial management oversight supporting academic departments and organizations optimizing resources in execution of the mission.
