Position Overview:

As a server at the luxurious Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection's Ovide Restaurant, you will deliver exceptional service in an upscale dining environment. You will be responsible for providing a memorable dining experience by offering detailed menu knowledge, courteous service, and attention to guests' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service: Provide personalized, attentive service to all guests, ensuring a fine dining experience that exceeds expectations.
• Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings to guide guests in their selections.
• Order Management: Accurately take and process food and drink orders, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
• Dining Area Preparation: Set up and maintain dining areas, including table settings, before, during, and after service.
• Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Problem-Solving: Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
• Upselling: Suggest additional menu items and wine pairings to enhance the dining experience.

Qualifications:

• Previous fine dining or upscale restaurant experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and cocktail pairings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.
• A strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in a fine dining setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Mobility: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8 hours or more.
• Lifting: Capable of lifting and carrying trays, glassware, and dishes weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Manual Dexterity: Requires the use of hands and arms for setting tables, carrying plates, and performing other service-related tasks.
• Endurance: Must have physical stamina to perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Coordination: Ability to move efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak service times.
• Vision and Hearing: Must be able to see and read orders, distinguish different types of food, and hear guests' orders clearly.
