Patient Support Specialist (Scheduling)

We are seeking a Radiology Scheduler to join our dedicated central scheduling team. In this entry-level role, you will perform structured outbound phone outreach to contact patients, review physician orders, and schedule diagnostic imaging appointments (such as Mammography, CT, MRI, and X-Ray).

This is a 100% outbound calling role—meaning no managing unpredictable incoming call queues! You will work through assigned electronic work queues to help reduce backlog and ensure patients get their essential imaging scheduled quickly and smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Outbound Patient Outreach: Place 80–100+ outbound calls daily off assigned work queues to schedule diagnostic imaging appointments in accordance with physician orders.

• Patient Registration & Data Entry: Accurately verify and update patient demographic details, insurance coverage, and referral information in strict compliance with standard scheduling protocols and HIPAA privacy guidelines.

• Patient Communication & Support: Deliver empathetic, professional, and patient-centered customer service. Answer routine exam preparation questions and use active listening and de-escalation skills to resolve scheduling conflicts.

• Queue & Workflow Management: Partner with team leads to manage daily case volume, track outreach outcomes, and ensure patient orders move forward efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Experience: 0–1+ years of experience in a call center, contact center, office, retail, or general customer service setting.

• Core Skills:
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with an emphasis on patience, clear tone, and de-escalation.

  • Self-motivated and accountable to meet daily outbound call goals independently.

  • Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare call center.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology or electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic.
