Location: San Antonio TX

Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4pm / Friday 7am – 12noon

Compensation: $15/hr Weekly Pay

Position Overview: 

The Aircraft Parts Inventory Associate is responsible for reviewing, identifying, sorting, and verifying vintage aircraft and industrial parts within a busy government-contract warehouse environment. Inventory may include aircraft components and materials dating back to the 1950s, including nuts, bolts, structural metal components, rubber gaskets, and other industrial parts.

This position requires exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately read and compare complex alphanumeric part numbers, labels, and inventory records. Associates will work from printed computer inventory sheets to verify materials stored in large wooden crates and determine whether items should be retained, recycled, or discarded according to client instructions.

The position also involves physical material handling, including lifting boxes, moving materials with a manual pallet jack, and carrying inventory up a flight of approximately 14 steps. Accuracy is critical. Candidates must successfully complete a client-provided inventory and matching assessment prior to placement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Review printed inventory sheets containing aircraft part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and other identifying information.
• Read, interpret, and accurately compare complex alphanumeric part numbers and labels.
• Inspect the contents of approximately 4' x 4' wooden storage crates and compare materials against inventory documentation.
• Verify that physical inventory exactly matches the information provided on inventory sheets.
• Identify discrepancies, mismatched part numbers, missing materials, or other inventory inconsistencies.
• Sort aircraft and industrial parts according to client instructions.
• Determine whether identified materials should be retained, recycled, or discarded based on inventory documentation and established procedures.
• Organize and consolidate inventory into appropriate boxes, crates, or designated storage areas.
• Clearly and legibly label boxes and materials using permanent markers.
• Lift, carry, relocate, and organize boxes generally weighing approximately 25–35 pounds.
• Carry boxes and materials from lower storage areas up approximately 14 steps to secondary storage locations.
• Safely move crates, pallets, and materials over short distances using a manual pallet jack.
• Handle older industrial materials carefully to prevent damage, injury, or loss of identifying information.
• Maintain an orderly and safe work area.
• Use facility-provided safety goggles and box cutters as required.
• Follow all warehouse, client, government contract, and workplace safety procedures.
• Immediately report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or questions regarding material disposition to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other warehouse, inventory, sorting, or material-handling duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.
• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• Must have 1 year experience in inventory and warehousing.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must be comfortable reading and comparing detailed and potentially complex alphanumeric part numbers, codes, labels, and inventory records.
• Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must successfully complete the client's specialized inventory/matching assessment prior to placement.
• Must be able to safely lift and carry approximately 25–35 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be physically capable of carrying materials up approximately 14 steps.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and capable of working effectively in a structured warehouse environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous warehouse, inventory control, parts, shipping/receiving, auditing, or material-handling experience.
• Previous experience working with part numbers, SKU numbers, serial numbers, inventory codes, or similar alphanumeric identification systems.
• Experience conducting physical inventory counts or reconciling physical inventory against printed or electronic records.
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, aviation, aerospace, defense, government-contract, or parts warehouse environment.
• Previous experience using a manual pallet jack.

Work Environment: 

• This position is performed in a busy warehouse operating in support of a government defense contract. The facility contains vintage aircraft inventory and industrial materials, some of which may date back several decades.
• Warehouse does not have central AC/Heat and uses large fans/heaters to keep facility temperate.  It may get hot during summer or cold during winter months.
• Employees may work around large wooden crates, pallets, metal aircraft components, nuts, bolts, rubber gaskets, packaging materials, and other industrial parts. Work may involve dust, older storage materials, varying warehouse temperatures, noise, and frequent movement of inventory.
• Associates may spend significant portions of the shift standing, walking, inspecting crates, reviewing inventory documentation, sorting parts, labeling boxes, and relocating materials.
• Closed-toe footwear is mandatory. Steel-toe work boots and heavy-duty work gloves are strongly recommended due to the nature of the materials and wooden pallets being handled.
• Employees are expected to follow all established safety procedures, inventory-control requirements, client policies, and government-contract workplace requirements at all times.

Physical and Mental Requirements: 

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Regularly stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, pull, and grasp materials.
• Regularly lift, carry, and relocate boxes weighing approximately 25–35 pounds.
• Safely carry materials while ascending and descending approximately 14 steps.
• Reach into, inspect, and remove materials from large wooden storage crates.
• Use hands and fingers to handle small parts, labels, paperwork, markers, and other inventory materials.
• Maintain sufficient visual ability to read printed inventory sheets, small labels, and detailed alphanumeric codes.
• Maintain the ability to distinguish between similar letters, numbers, and combinations of characters.
• Safely use box cutters and other facility-provided tools as required.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety goggles, when directed.
• Work around wooden crates, pallets, metal components, rubber materials, and other industrial inventory.

• Recognize subtle differences in alphanumeric sequences, part numbers, quantities, and descriptions.
• Follow multi-step written and verbal instructions without skipping required verification procedures.
• Make accurate sorting decisions based on established inventory documentation and client instructions.
• Maintain accuracy while performing repetitive tasks.
• Exercise appropriate judgment and stop to request clarification when an inventory item cannot be positively identified.
• Organize information and materials in a logical and consistent manner.
• Adapt to changing priorities, inventory assignments, and work areas.
• Communicate discrepancies, questions, and safety concerns clearly and promptly.
• Work independently when appropriate while also cooperating with supervisors and other warehouse personnel.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working in a government-contract environment.
