Night shift 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The MedSurg RN will provide exceptional, evidence-based care to adult acute care patients in the Intermediate Care unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit. The role involves managing a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7, providing a wide array of medical services based on individual patient needs, including continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. RNs in this unit will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and must be adept at rapid response and emergency management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with varying medical diagnoses, primarily focusing on pulmonary needs.
• Administer IV therapy, conduct phlebotomy, and manage peripheral line care.
• Provide airway management and non-invasive ventilation support (BIPAP/CPAP).
• Interpret dysrhythmias and effectively manage related emergencies.
• Utilize an interdisciplinary approach to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid New York RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years preferred.
• Certified in BLS and NIHSS; both must be included in submittal.
• EPIC charting experience is required.
• Ability to float to ICU or MS as needed.
