We are part of the LTE group of companies and are rated "Good" by Ofsted. Site Information HMP Altcourse is a category B local prison located in Fazakerley, Liverpool, England. It houses sentenced and on‑remand adult male prisoners and young offenders. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for successful reintegration into society. Skills, Qualifications and Experience Hold a teaching qualification – minimum Cert Ed or PGCE Hold a degree or equivalent (including life / career experience) Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy Hold a TAQA Internal Verifier Award / V1 or equivalent (desirable) Hold a Level 4 or equivalent subject specialism or vocational qualification (desirable) Implement continuous quality assurance procedures Demonstrate successful partnership working Lead and manage a team effectively (desirable) Manage colleague deployment and task delegation (desirable) Work within a secure environment (desirable) Work with learners with challenging behaviour (desirable) Effective communication and interpersonal skills Motivate and enthuse teams Excellent organisational skills to prioritise workload to meet deadlines and targets Analyse trends and identify impact on curriculum Excellent IT skills Benefits 40 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays 2 hours for wellbeing / personal development per week Significant Pension contributions Retail Discounts Employee Assistance Program Cycle to work scheme Safeguarding The LTE Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
