About the Company

Our client is a food manufacturer operating a large production facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin.

The Role

The Maintenance Superintendent leads a team of Maintenance Supervisors responsible for the plant's building and equipment maintenance. You will develop strategies to minimize mechanical downtime and keep production lines running at full capacity, and you will lead the development and implementation of maintenance systems such as preventive and predictive maintenance and TPM. Your leadership will directly shape the plant's operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

• Own the plant maintenance systems to drive peak performance and minimize cost.
• Lead root cause analysis, reliability-centered maintenance and TPM so the plant operates at maximum capacity.
• Schedule work to reduce unscheduled downtime, improve efficiency and cut cost.
• Lead the maintenance team through effective delegation, planning and organization of work assignments.
• Lead plant safety by enforcing policies and procedures and promoting a safety culture that complies with federal and state regulations.
• Act as the go-to problem solver for day-to-day operational challenges, from equipment failures to troubleshooting, preventing recurring problems.
• Partner with the Plant Engineer to design and manage the preventive and predictive maintenance program in the SAP PM module, analyzing program data to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Track and report maintenance KPIs across equipment reliability, supplier performance and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Lead continuous improvement so the maintenance function operates at its highest potential.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Food manufacturing experience
• Maintenance supervisory experience
• Experience acting as a lead: training, coaching or mentoring less experienced staff, or managing a process or project
• Advanced technical skills in the mechanical and electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering)
• Ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of world-class maintenance management systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance and TPM
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong working knowledge of SAP
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational planning and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills preferred
• Willingness to work long hours and weekends when required
