Pre-K Paraprofessional

PreK Paraprofessional (Ridge Lawn) Start Date for the 2025-26 School Year: August 18, 2025. Salary: $20-$23/hr based on education. Qualifications Must have or be eligible for Illinois Paraprofessional Approval. Experience in working with special education students preferred. Experience in working with English learners preferred. Bilingual Arabic preferred. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic skills; general office procedures, practices and use of equipment; recreational activities involving sports, games, arts and crafts, and music; pupils with exceptional needs; individual differences of pupils. Record keeping of assessment data. Assist Teacher. Instructional activities. Preparing materials for classroom use. Organizing and directing games and recreational activities both in the classroom and on the playground. Modify class work. Set up equipment and help prepare materials for instruction. Assist Students, including: Take to office or nurse’s office as directed by the teacher. Taking off and putting on clothing upon arrival, at recess, and prior to departure from school. Attend to physical needs as directed by the teacher. Perform exercises or play games. Attend to disabled students’ physical needs, including feeding, toileting, teaching good grooming habits. Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standards. Maintain and improve professional competence. Participate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the Board of Education. Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
