Job Opportunity – CICU Registered Nurse – Western North CarolinaStart Date: October 16, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, alternating weekends
Highlights:
- Work in a 16-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at a Magnet-designated hospital and Level II trauma center
- Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity; RN-focused care model
- Advanced cardiac technology including IABP, Impella, CRRT, vents, and hypothermia protocols
- Cerner EMR system for streamlined documentation
- Facility recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals with Leapfrog "A" safety rating
- Busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas; only open heart and interventional cardiology center in the region
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina
- ICU experience required
- Demonstrated competency in titration of vasoactive medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation
- Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation
- CCRN certification highly recommended; IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated

Unit Specifics:
- Equipment: Ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, hypothermia devices
- Procedures performed: Cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis
- Skills utilized: Transvenous pacing, cardioversion, TEE assistance, chest tube maintenance
- Dress code: Navy or navy and white scrubs (no pullovers or hoodies)
