Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction Build the Infrastructure That Keeps South Florida Moving At Central Civil Construction, you won’t be stuck behind a desk pushing paperwork all day. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work alongside experienced industry leaders on high-profile infrastructure projects across South Florida — including airports, seaports, roadways, utilities, and private developments. Whether assigned to a project site or our head office, you’ll gain hands‑on exposure to every phase of construction operations, project controls, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor coordination, and field execution. What You’ll Do Support Project Managers and Superintendents in the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, buyout, and project coordination Manage project controls and documentation using Procore: RFIs Change Orders Contracts & correspondence Drawing revisions and project records Track crew production, subcontractor performance, and project data Coordinate subcontractor compliance and Procore utilization, including pay applications Assist with material deliveries, logistics coordination, and hauling record management Maintain and manage project dashboards and reporting tools Generate accurate project status reports and updates for leadership teams Build strong relationships with owners, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams Support preconstruction activities including estimating, planning, and scheduling Help improve project workflows and contribute ideas that drive efficiency and performance What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 5+ years of construction industry experience Strong proficiency with Procore and project controls OSHA 10 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days — provided by Central Civil) Preferred Skills Experience with heavy civil construction projects Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities Self‑starter mentality with a strong work ethic Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Experience with: AutoCAD PlanGrid HCSS Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Why Join Central Civil?
