Associate Attorney

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our civil litigation practice. The successful candidate will support senior attorneys in managing litigation matters, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, and representing clients in court and administrative proceedings when appropriate. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong civil litigation skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to handle a diverse caseload under supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage and support civil litigation matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement documents.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials; assist with witness preparation and trial exhibits.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and external vendors to advance case strategy and meet deadlines.
• Develop case strategies in collaboration with supervising attorneys and provide clear analyses of risks, costs, and possible outcomes.
• Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and firm policies.
• Participate in case staffing, strategy meetings, and continuing legal education; contribute to business development and client relationship efforts as needed.
• Assist with drafting and negotiating settlement agreements and perform legal due diligence as required.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and present clear recommendations.
• Excellent oral advocacy and interpersonal skills; comfortable appearing in court and taking depositions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with civil procedure, evidence rules, and applicable substantive law in defense and litigation matters.
• Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software; strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Professionalism, integrity, and a client-focused approach; demonstrated teamwork and initiative in prior roles.
