Overview Job Description - Licensed Practical Nurse (250004YF) Licensed Practical Nurse (250004YF) Organization : Rehabilitation & Correction - Franklin Medical Center Agency Contact Name and Information: View phone number on click.appcast.io/View email address on click.appcast.io Unposting Date : Ongoing Work Location : Franklin Medical Center 1990 Harmon Avenue Columbus 43223 Primary Location : United States of America-OHIO-Franklin County-Columbus Compensation : $58,000 Schedule : Full-time Union : OCSEA Primary Job Skill : Nursing Technical Skills : Basic Medical Procedures, Medical Charting, Medication Management, Direct Support/Direct Care, Nursing Professional Skills : Cultural Awareness, Customer Focus, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Confidentiality What You’ll Do Provides patient care as directed Documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record Maintain patient medical records Administers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certified Performs treatments Assists with Doctor’s Sick Call Assists with chronic care clinics management Participates in patient care planning and treatment team activities Responds to emergencies Provides emergency care and collection of patient data Collects vital signs and timely documents all findings Collects urine and/or other body fluid specimens May perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples for laboratory analysis Prepares patients for release and/or transfer by reviewing patient care, completing Intra-System Transfer Summaries and/or Release Summaries Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy services Participates in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assigned Provides assistance to other healthcare staff Investigates and documents problem areas and/or areas of concern Reviews shift report from preceding shift(s) Assist physicians with medical procedures Assumes duties of other nurses during absences Observes, documents and provides nursing support to assistive personnel (nurse aides, psychiatric attendants, patient care assistants) Provides patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of disease Participates in continuous quality improvement activities Performs administrative duties Attends meetings Schedules multidisciplinary team meetings Performs and/or assists with inventory and ordering of medical supplies Assists ancillary staff including Health Information Technicians and medical schedulers as needed to ensure patient care needs are met Must work overtime as required Why Work for the State of Ohio At the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans.
