Traveling SuperintendentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee construction and renovation projects across multiple property types, including multifamily, hotels, senior living and assisted living facilities, apartments and student housing. The Traveling Superintendent will travel between sites to manage contractors, ensure quality and safety, maintain schedules and budgets, and communicate progress to owners and project teams. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse project environments.Key ResponsibilitiesTravel to and supervise multiple job sites (multifamily, hotel, senior living, assisted living, apartments, student housing) to ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards and timelines.Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and on-site staff; enforce safety protocols and compliance with local codes and regulations.Conduct regular site inspections, document progress with reports, photos and punch lists, and track project milestones to meet schedule and budget targets.Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers and owners to resolve issues, clarify scope, and implement value engineering and improvements as needed.Manage procurement and material logistics for sites; verify deliveries, manage inventory and reduce waste to control costs.Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, change order documentation, and maintain accurate project records in the companys project management system.Coach and mentor local site teams and subcontractors; drive continuous improvement and best practices in construction quality, scheduling and safety.Respond quickly to site emergencies or operational issues and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain resident/guest safety and satisfaction.Qualifications5+ years of superintendent or construction management experience, including hands-on site supervision across multifamily, hospitality (hotel), and senior living/assisted living projects preferred.Demonstrated experience as a traveling superintendent or with multi-site oversight; comfortable with frequent travel and overnight stays.Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, ADA requirements, fire/life safety systems, and best practices for multifamily, hotel and senior living facilities.Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and subcontractors; experience with change orders, RFIs and project documentation.Excellent communication, leadership and conflict-resolution skills; able to interface with owners, residents, vendors and cross-functional teams professionally.Proficiency with project management and construction documentation tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Buildertrend or similar) and Microsoft Office.Valid drivers license and reliable travel availability; OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or relevant safety certifications are a plus.Associate or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field is preferred but not required; relevant trade experience valued.BenefitsMedical VisionDental 401(K)BonusAnd More!
