**Exciting Opportunity for Respiratory Therapists in the NICU!** - **Position:** Registered Respiratory Therapist - NICU - **Location:** Travel assignment at a community hospital - **Experience Required:** Minimum of 2 years with Pediatrics or NICU (ONE required) - **Certifications Required:** - BLS - NC State License - NRP - PALS - RRT - **Preferred Certifications:** - NPS - ACLS - **Shift:** Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15) - **Floating Requirement:** Yes, throughout Pediatric units and floors - **Weekend Coverage:** Every third weekend - **Block Scheduling:** No - **Patient Age Groups:** Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics - **Daily Census:** 10-15 patients - **Unit Details:** - Work in NICU, PICU, PEDS ER, and PEDS Floor - 50% - 60% of daily cases in NICU & PICU - Experience with neonates and pediatrics is a must! - **Skills Required:** - Medication Delivery Systems - Aerosol set up (mask, trach) - Medihaler - Basic EKG interpretation* - Drawing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs) - Talent in ventilator management: - BiPAP, CPAP - Weaning from mechanical ventilation - Troubleshooting high pressure alarms - Oxygen therapy experience (HFNC, trach collar) - Airway management and suctioning: - Extubation - Tracheostomy care/management - **Special Procedures:** - Arterial blood gases - Nebulizer treatments - Ventilator/NIV management - Pediatric critical care expertise preferred - **Orientation:** 30 hours of orientation, dive into your new role without delay! - **Scrubs Provided:** Not provided; please wear BLACK scrubs. - **Interview Process:** The hiring manager requires an interview before offering the position.
