Physical Therapy AssistantImproving the quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education, by examining each person and then developing a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability. This position works closely with physical therapists and on-site surgeons.Essential FunctionsPerforms and documents daily assessments of patient's conditionFollows a plan of care which is appropriate to problems in identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desiresEducates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment settings. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
