IT Risk Tech Lead (Hybrid - 3 Days in Office)

Position Overview The Risk Assurance team is part of the 1st Line within the Enterprise Operations & Technology Division at Freddie Mac. Team members on the Risk Assurance control testing/QA team are highly-skilled risk management, and/or technology professionals with a demonstrated ability to provide value added risk management and advisory services. The team plays a critical role in shaping Freddie Mac’s approach to managing Information & Technology risk by providing independent, objective, and value-added assurance of risk management, automation, governance, and controls. The Tech Lead will focus on executing control testing and Quality Assurance, data analytics, identifying process improvement opportunities, and providing risk advisory support for EO&T. As part of the First Line of Defense the candidate will work closely with risk partners in the Second and Third Line of Defense. Our Impact We provide strong operational risk management knowledge and advice to EO&T and optimally manage risk in line with the 2nd Line of Defense, policies and standards with the targeted use of innovative strategies and techniques. Your Impact Work independently or as part of a risk management team and ensure work is completed on time and in keeping with professional standards. Perform and document work such as procedure development, walkthroughs and controls testing in accordance with the risk management standards. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to our industry. Leverage data analytics and automation knowledge to enhance current processes around issue management and risk management. Consult with internal teams on areas of risk related to common infrastructure (e.g., network, UNIX, databases) and information security (e.g., governance, security monitoring, threat and vulnerability). Identify and use data sources to drive analytical insights into Freddie Mac’s technology infrastructure. Support control testing team with hands‑on testing. Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing research and review of industry publications. Contribute to team knowledge by leading teamwide training and knowledge shares. Qualifications Minimum of 6 years working experience, including a minimum of 4 years in Information & Technology or Information Security. Relevant degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration with an emphasis on Technology, Computer Science, Accounting Information Systems or related discipline. Implementation or compliance review experience of industry standards to include COBIT, NIST, ISO, or ITIL. Platform, middleware, and application audit experience, including experience with the various levels of the OSI model and technologies such as Windows, Unix, and Oracle. Basic knowledge of cloud-based tools, applications and vendors such as AWS, Azure, or Google. Deep knowledge of NIST, SDLC, COBIT, ITIL, ISO, IT General Controls preferred. Preferred certifications: CISA, CISSP, GLEG, GIAC, CISM. Keys to Success in this Role Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
