About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Strategy and Community Impact to play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the organization's vision. This senior leadership position is at the forefront of addressing the region's most pressing issues, including wealth disparity and the effects of federal policy. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the community investment portfolio, oversee grantmaking, and manage a team to ensure the organization's priorities are met. They will also be responsible for fostering strategic partnerships, driving regional alignment, and leading new business development to grow the philanthropic portfolio. The role demands a deep understanding of the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors, as well as the political, social, and philanthropic landscape of the Greater Washington region. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with 8-10 years' in a senior leadership role within a complex organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic partnerships, fundraising, and business development, and be adept at translating strategy into measurable outcomes. Strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders are essential. The role requires a leader with excellent judgment, adaptability, and a deep commitment to the values of the organization, including a focus on people, planet, and the potential for positive change.
