About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its National Capital Region Chapter. The successful candidate will be the senior-most leader of the organization's flagship chapter, with a focus on local strategy, revenue growth, community impact, and team performance. This role is pivotal, as it involves cultivating relationships with political and government figures, representing the organization on Capitol Hill, and leading the chapter's full operational portfolio, including staff, volunteers, budget, and programs. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and executing a Chapter Sustainability Plan to ensure a clear pathway to over $1M in annual revenue, and must have a proven track record in six-figure fundraising, with a strong preference for experience in growing to a seven-figure level. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years' of experience in community development, nonprofit leadership, or strategic partnerships, with at least 5 years' in staff management. They should possess exceptional executive communication skills, strong organizational management abilities, and a mission-driven mindset with integrity, humility, and emotional intelligence. Experience in government affairs, a network of political and governmental relationships in Washington, DC, and a deep understanding of military culture and the lived experience of military families are highly desirable. The role requires a bold thinker, a fast mover, and a smart collaborator who is ready to work in a high-performance, mission-driven environment and is committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of military and veteran families.
