Position: Food Runner


Department: Food andBeverage

Primary Responsibilities: •Ensure allguests receive a Five Star Experience
•Embody and maintain the Brand DNA inall aspects of the dining experience
•Proactively approaches andacknowledges all guests in a friendly, warm and welcoming manner
•Escortsand offers chair assistance in the arrival and seating of the guest
•Servingand articulating all courses including a full knowledge of all offerings andpreparation methods
•Assist in the departure of the guest including agenuine farewell and invite the guest back
•Completing all assigned sidework to the standard operating procedure
•Taking food orders including afull articulate knowledge of all offerings and preparation methods
•Placingfood orders into the Point of Sale System
•Efficient execution of fooddelivery to the guest table and maintenance of the overall guestexperience

Secondary Responsibilities: •Provides aselection of bottled water service
•Menu Presentation
•Placingappropriate silverware
•Firing appropriate course
•Clearing of allcourses
•Validates satisfaction throughout the meal
•Taking dessertorders including a full articulate knowledge of all offerings and preparationmethods
•Make and serve coffee, tea, espresso, cappuccino, latte
•Assistin the departure of the guest including a genuine farewell and invite the guestback
•Assisting the dining team with all aspects of the servicescript
•Completing all assigned side work to the standard operatingprocedure
•Assisting the dining team with all aspects of the servicescript
•Maintain a high level of professionalism on the phone with callersand others entering the dining room in accordance with Greenbrierstandards
•Maintain a cleanly and organized station
•Effective andconscientious use of materials and effective and efficient use of time.
•Isfamiliar with pertinent ABC laws
•Participate in all meetings as required -Pre-Shift, training sessions, etc.
•Ensure proper supplies are on hand atall times in order to effectively service the guest

Because of the fluctuating demands of theHotel's operation, it may be necessary that each employee partner perform amultitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job,you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as otherEmployee Partners are expected to help you.Accordingly, you may be expected toperform other tasks as needed or directed.

Past Work ExperienceRequirements: •Busboy / Food Runner for at least two years, FourStar or Five Star dining experience preferred

Educational Requirements: •High SchoolDiploma or G.E.D. preferred
•Successfully passed the menutest
•Successfully passed the practical service test

Communication SkillsRequirements: •Ability to communicate effectively to ensure allobjectives, criteria, and goals are clearly understood and accomplished to thedesired standard
•Must be enthusiastically proficient in the properpronunciation of Food and Beverage offerings and preparations

Technical Requirements: •Point of SaleTerminal experience
•To be considered a qualified applicant one mustsuccessfully complete the following:
•Talent plus rating process
•Verbaland written menu test
•Practical service test

Required Supervision: •AssistantManager / Sous Chef

Other Requirements: •Energetic with astrong ability to display enthusiasm, professionalism, passion andenergy
•On-going certification and training will be part of therequirements
