Portfolio Officer

Role Description
The Portfolio Officer’s primary responsibility is to manage and monitor the loan portfolio throughout the life of the loan after loan disbursement. The Portfolio Officer requires detailed knowledge of SBA servicing and administration policies, procedures, and compliance. VelocitySBA is seeking for an individual with minimum of 4-6 years in SBA loan management.
- Communicate with borrowers to monitor loan risk ratings and recommend any necessary actions.
- Prepare post-closing memorandums. Notes all communications, including communication attempts in loan core system.
- Communicate with team members for any issues identified during annual review or post-closing processing.
- Monitors reports on customer communications, email bounce backs & other covenant tracking tools.
- Monitors status of customers covenants, including insurance coverage, financial statements, real estate property tax tracking, and follow up communications, including with agents, borrowers and guarantors through email, mail, and any contact phone numbers.
- Complete Servicing Action requests, working with the customer, preparing memos for approval, and obtaining due diligence items.
- Complete annual reviews by preparing memos and financial/ credit reviews.
- Tickler tracking and monitoring for financial and other tickler item requirements.
- Prepares monthly appropriate reports and participates in monthly Portfolio Management reviews.
- Back up to Servicing Manager.
- Perform all duties within the constraints of all applicable Federal, State, and local laws. Follow VelocitySBA and the U.S. Small Business Administration Policies and Procedures.
- Assist with preparation of portfolio excel reports, tables and pivots, power point presentations, Board presentations and other excel portfolio management tables/tools and reports.
- Ability to work with and operate in Spark and PCFS/Loan Manager platforms.
- Ability to work with cash flow spreading and basic credit analysis & assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in SBA 7(a) lending
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail, emphasis on accuracy and strong sense of urgency.
- Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills
- Possess basic team coordination, mentoring, training and managerial support type skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as upward, downward & across the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, strong overall keyboarding, computer, internet application skills
- PCFS Loan Manager experience
- Ability to work with excel, PowerPoint and Financial Spreading in Spark
- Abilities to perform basic credit assessments and analysis.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $75,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)
