Job Description VP of Retail Strategy Employment Type: Full-Time Our client, a high-growth beauty and consumer products company, is seeking a strategic and commercially driven VP of Retail Strategy to lead retail growth, shelf velocity, and profitability across key retail accounts. This executive will bridge creative brand storytelling with disciplined commercial execution—translating strong digital awareness into high-converting in-store experiences while building trusted, long-term partnerships with leading beauty retailers. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in modern beauty marketing, retail analytics, supply chain performance, and cross-functional operational leadership. Responsibilities Strategic Relationship Nurturing & Account Management Develop and deepen executive-level relationships with key retail partners to drive sustainable growth and strategic alignment. Lead account planning, joint business planning, and commercial negotiations across retail channels. Identify opportunities to expand distribution, improve assortment productivity, and increase shelf velocity. Serve as a senior partner to merchants, buyers, and retail stakeholders, aligning brand priorities with account objectives. Retail Strategy & Commercial Growth Develop and execute a comprehensive retail growth strategy across existing and emerging accounts. Translate consumer insights, digital trends, and brand storytelling into effective in-store merchandising and activation plans. Establish performance targets for revenue, profitability, distribution, sell-through, and on-shelf availability. Use retail data and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities, address performance gaps, and optimize investment decisions. Operational Excellence & Supply Chain Partnership Partner closely with supply chain, operations, finance, and demand planning teams to improve fulfillment performance and inventory availability. Monitor key supply chain and retail execution metrics, including in-stock rates, fill rates, forecast accuracy, and inventory turns. Proactively resolve operational risks that could affect customer experience, launch timing, or retail partner performance. Lead cross-functional planning for seasonal launches, promotional events, and retail expansion initiatives. Leadership & Team Development Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing retail strategy and account management organization. Foster strong collaboration across sales, marketing, creative, operations, finance, and product teams. Create clear operating rhythms, reporting frameworks, and accountability structures for commercial performance. Bring structure and prioritization to a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Qualifications Significant leadership experience in retail strategy, sales, account management, or commercial operations within beauty, consumer products, or a related category. Demonstrated success growing major retail partnerships and improving commercial performance across omnichannel accounts. Strong command of retail analytics, including sell-through, assortment productivity, promotional effectiveness, and inventory performance. Experience partnering with supply chain and operations teams to improve fulfillment, forecasting, and on-shelf availability. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with executive-level stakeholders. Ability to balance creative brand vision with rigorous operational and financial decision-making.
