Growing together.Under direction, delivers excellent customer service and support to patients, clinicians, and technologists, with primary responsibility for checking in patients, answering phones, faxing, burning CD's and requesting priors. Able to work independently by demonstrating a high level of competence in all support roles. Works to improve radiology clinical and clerical operations through coordination of contact between technologists, patients and referrals outside the unit.Schedule: FT, 40 hours. Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pmLocation: 36 Shops at Five Way Plymouth, MAPrimary Responsibilities:Verifies patient insurance coverage and demographic information and collect co-pays and deductibles from patients who are having imaging exams in accordance with insurance programsMake appointment reminder phone calls as neededProcesses patient requests for copies of images/CD in accordance with Atrius' standard for release of patient informationManages the patient flow within the department by adhering to the department check-in processMay assist with the checkout function and appropriately book follow up appointments per department guidelinesPerform image sharing functions including but not limited to assuring availability of radiographs for medical appointments, coordinating previous imaging acquisition from other institutions and assisting in downloading CD's to patients EMR/PACS. Utilizes the Radiology Information System to verify and maintain correct demographic information in PACSAppropriately tracks internal as well as external facility images that enter and leave the department per department policiesAssists in the communication of results to outside providers by faxing and/or routing per department protocolEnsure that waiting room is maintained and orderlyAssists with training and orientation of new radiology support staffProvides back-up coverage for other support staff as neededProvides Imaging/radiology support staff coverage at various locations within the region as neededAssists in resolving minor patients' concerns and complaints as appropriatePerforms other duties as assignedAccesses only the minimum necessary protected health information (PHI) for the performance of job duties. Actively protects the confidentiality and privacy of all protected health information they access in all its forms (written, verbal, and electronic, etc.) taking reasonable precautions to prohibit unauthorized access. Complies with all Atrius Health and departmental privacy policies, procedures and protocols. The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
