Mechanical Construction Senior Project Manager

This is for someone who knows the difference between pushing paper and actually driving a job—someone who understands how mechanical systems come together in the field and takes pride in delivering clean, well-executed projects.

We’re working with a mechanical contractor in Phoenix that continues to win technically demanding work because they execute. Their PMs aren’t stuck chasing signatures all day—they’re trusted to run their projects, solve problems, and keep jobs moving.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

You’ll take ownership of mechanical scopes from early-stage planning through closeout, with real accountability for outcome—not just process.

• Managing HVAC, piping, and plumbing packages on commercial and industrial builds
• Driving schedule and sequencing with a clear understanding of how the field operates
• Working directly with GCs and owners to keep projects aligned and moving
• Staying ahead of coordination issues before they impact cost or timeline
• Partnering closely with field leadership—this is not a desk-only role

What Tends to Work Well Here

This team does best with people who are grounded, decisive, and technically fluent.

• You’ve managed mechanical scopes and understand the details (not just the terminology)
• You’re comfortable walking a jobsite and having real conversations with supers and foremen
• You don’t wait for problems to escalate—you get in front of them
• You can manage clients without overpromising or losing control of the job
• You prefer accountability over layers of oversight

Why People Make This Move

• Less bureaucracy, more ownership
• A steady pipeline of negotiated and repeat work
• Leadership that came up through the field and respects how projects actually get built
• Opportunity to grow into senior-level responsibility as the company continues to expand in Phoenix

The Bottom Line

• If you’re a mechanical PM who takes pride in running tight, well-coordinated projects—and you’re looking for an environment where that actually matters—this is worth a conversation.
