Details Adult and geriatric emergency department caring for all emergency type diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 15-week contract length Every other weekend required Every other holiday required, if needed Uses Epic EMR Floating required within skillset Special equipment includes Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment Scrubs must be a combination of navy blue and white Requirements Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not compact); pending licenses not accepted Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required 1 year of experience required Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with IV vasopressors required Proficient in CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management Experience with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI care required Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Emergency care experience with adult and pediatric ED cases, gunshot wounds, and ortho trauma Experience with isolation precautions and triage required Pediatric spinal cord injury experience required Additional Information Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric diagnoses in a high-acuity trauma setting Facility is a 528-bed acute care teaching hospital that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center ED features a centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, dedicated pediatric ED, crisis intervention unit, and trauma suite near the ambulance entrance Facility may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without charge Being placed on-call in lieu of being called off counts as a called-off shift First-time travelers are welcome to apply RN candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted; local LPN candidates are accepted All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application American Traveler Job ID P-750833.
