Senior Software Engineer

I'm working with a Chicago-based technology company that is looking to add a Senior Software Engineer to their team.

An opportunity with a Chicago-based software company where you'd have a level of ownership that's difficult to find in larger organizations.

This is a chance to be one of the key engineers responsible for the company's core platform, working directly with the CEO and helping shape both the product and technical direction of the business. The team is small, so your impact will be highly visible and your ideas will carry real weight.

You'll be involved in everything from building new features and shaping architecture to modernizing critical parts of the platform and collaborating with customers to solve real business problems. They're looking for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to help drive a product forward, not just execute tickets.

Tech Stack

• Java
• Angular
• AWS
• Claude Code (used daily across the engineering team)

They're looking for someone who:

• Regularly uses AI-assisted development tools (especially Claude Code)
• Enjoys interacting with customers as much as writing code
• Can contribute across architecture, development, and product discussions
• Thrives in a high-ownership, small-company environment
• Sees modernization work as an opportunity to create lasting impact

The position is based in Chicago with 1-2 days per week in the office.

Targeting 145-165k base with bonus on top.
