This is a Permanent-Intermittent position with a maximum of 1,500 hours of work per calendar year.

Duties: Under general direction of the Section Manager, the incumbent serves as a non-supervisory specialist performing project management duties on a wide variety of civil engineering related design and construction projects, studies, purchase contracts for State Water Project (SWP) facilities, Delta flood-control facilities, and other facilities and locations as required. The incumbent will also oversee consultants supporting the Project Management and Coordination Section.

Must possess a valid California driver's license when conducting State business that requires driving a vehicle.

This position requires that the incumbent run day-to-day project management duties, which will require the incumbent to work cooperatively with others, maintain regular and consistent attendance, and exercise good judgment.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The scope of responsibilities of this position involves a broad working knowledge of civil engineering; design of hydraulic structures and pipelines; soil mechanics and foundations; applicable design and building codes; environmental permitting and statutes, and civil design computer applications.
