Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 4:1 patient ratio, some weekends required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule), float required within the hospital system, call required

Highlights:

• Progressive care stepdown unit serving adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Mixed-acuity environment ideal for nurses with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• 36 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful transition
• First-time travelers accepted with 1 year of experience (subject to manager review)
• 13-week assignment with pre-approved time off options available

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in progressive care or stepdown setting
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, MS/Tele, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Ability to float to different units within the organization as needed
• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately upon contract signing
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
