Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 4:1 patient ratio, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Friday/Saturday for nights), float within organization required, call responsibilities included

• Progressive care/stepdown unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Mixed-acuity environment with opportunities to develop critical thinking and dysrhythmia management skills
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• 36 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful transition
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with only 1 year of experience will undergo manager review
• Two pre-approved time-off periods available during assignment

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of progressive care, stepdown, or telemetry nursing experience
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Comfort with isolation precautions/PPE and MS/Telemetry monitoring
• Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to an in-state location or complete mailed fingerprinting packet urgently
• Unresponsive or uncooperative candidates during credentialing are at risk of assignment delay or cancellation
• Former employees must have been away from the facility for 6 months or more to be eligible
• Current employees at the organization are ineligible for travel assignments at any location

Additional Information:

Parking permit options are available for purchase through the campus parking system, with monthly and annual options ranging from $196.20 to $748.58 depending on access level and duration. Monthly permits and prorated refunds may be available for certain options.
