About the Position

Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other or third weekend required. Float rotation within the organization as needed.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures
• Adult and geriatric patient population with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
• Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted; profiles with one year of experience subject to manager review
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or telemetry experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience and community hospital background preferred
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)

Key Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and central line management
• IV insulin and heparin protocols
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and surgical drain care
• PCA and peripheral nerve block catheter management
• High flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP management
• Starting and maintaining peripheral and PICC lines
