Senior Accountant

Join a growing and dynamic organization in Westchester County, NY, as a Senior Accountant. This highly visible role will serve as a key member of a small, collaborative accounting team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of deferred revenue, lease accounting, cash flow management, and general accounting principles, while thriving in a hands-on environment where they can make a meaningful impact on a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Monitor and account for deferred revenue, ensuring accurate recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain lease accounting schedules and oversee related journal entries and reporting requirements.
• Analyze and monitor cash flow, assisting leadership with forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports and variance analyses for management.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit support.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
• Support process improvements and help strengthen internal controls as the company continues to grow.
• Collaborate closely with operations and leadership teams on financial and business initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of deferred revenue, lease accounting, cash flow analysis, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience working in a growing company, franchise environment, or multi-location business preferred.
• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly preferred.
• Must be local to Westchester County, NY and able to work collaboratively with an in-office team.
