Job Summary:

Telemetry nursing is a specialized subfield of nursing that focuses on the monitoring of patients with cardiac conditions, such as heart disease and heart failure. The Cardiac Telemetry Unit sees a lot of respiratory, renal, trachs, pegs, and wound care - a strong cardiac focus

Responsibilities:

Monitors EKG output and keeps doctors informed of any changes. Recording vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc. Monitoring patient progress and updating patient medical records as needed.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing from a school of professional nursing (required)
• BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia as a Registered Nurse (required)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
• ACLS and PALS certification (preferred)
• TNCC (preferred)
• 1 year of nursing experience, ideally in an acute care ER environment
