Work Environment\n

This role is remote, yet deeply community-oriented, allowing you to conduct therapy both in-home and within our outpatient offices located in Elk Grove, California. Flexibility is a cornerstone of our work culture, and you will have the opportunity to create your own schedule, focusing particularly on evenings from 4 PM to 7 PM, with potential weekend hours as needed. As part of a dedicated Child Family Treatment Team, you will engage in collaborative discussions, attend monthly team meetings, and share insights that drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions remotely, focusing on in-home settings, as well as group therapy sessions at our outpatient center.

• Utilize therapeutic modalities to teach anger management, coping strategies, and social skills to children and their families.
\n
• Address high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, through tailored intervention strategies aimed at reducing episodes and promoting safe coping mechanisms.
\n
• Support the decision-making processes of both youth and caregivers to effectively manage challenging behaviors and foster productive family dynamics.
\n
• Document all necessary clinical interactions including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational timelines.
\n
• Participate in continuous learning and team collaborations by attending monthly professional development and supervision meetings.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be primarily working with children ranging from ages 3 to 20, many of whom face complex emotional and behavioral challenges due to intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life, improving familial relationships, and fostering community integration. As a bilingual therapist (Spanish or Portuguese), you will have the unique opportunity to connect with diverse families, ensuring equitable access to mental health resources.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, with some flexibility for weekend sessions.

• Strong background in providing positive behavior support interventions.
\n
• Proficient communication skills, particularly in a clinical context.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience working with individuals aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic techniques and approaches tailored to child and adolescent mental health.

• Current knowledge of community resources and support systems available to families facing similar challenges.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for conducting in-home visits.

• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

Compensation and Benefits\n
