BMS Project Manager

Amteck is hiring for a BMS/EPMS Project Manager. This position reports to our Vice President of Electrical Service. A BMS (Building Management System) Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of projects involving the design, installation, integration, commissioning, and handover of building automation systems. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards, while managing technical aspects and coordinating numerous stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop and manage detailed schedules, budgets, and resource plans. Technical Oversight: Oversee BMS design reviews, installation, and commissioning; ensure compliance with specifications and building codes; integrate BMS with HVAC, lighting, security, electrical, and fire systems. Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers; manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and lead project coordination meetings. Risk & Quality Management: Identify potential risks and implement mitigation plans; ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance standards. Testing & Handover: Lead FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing; manage project close‑out, complete documentation, and hand over systems to operations teams. Financial Management: Oversee project financials, including cost control, forecasting, margin analysis, change order tracking, and assist with billing and payments. Qualifications and Skills Experience: 3–5+ years of project management in construction or building services, with a strong background in BMS and control systems; experience in mission‑critical facilities such as data centers is a plus. Technical Knowledge: Deep knowledge of BMS platforms (Trend, Tridium, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls Metasys), HVAC systems, control logic, and integration protocols (BACnet, Modbus). Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls) preferred; PMP, PRINCE2, or BMS‑specific certifications (BCIA) highly advantageous. Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and communication (written and verbal); strong organizational and time‑management abilities with high attention to detail; effective problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments. Other Requirements: Proficiency in project management software (MS Project), MS Office Suite, and BMS software tools; knowledge of construction safety regulations (OSHA, CSCS); willingness to travel to various construction sites as needed. Core Technical Skills HVAC, Electrical, and Mechanical Systems: Understanding of how HVAC, electrical and mechanical building equipment, heat, ventilation, and air‑conditioning operate, including actuators, sensors, valves, and dampers. DDC (Direct Digital Control) and Control Logic: Expertise in DDC technology, control strategies, sequences of operation, and design or review of control logic. System Components: Knowledge of input/output devices, controllers, user interfaces, and communication networks. Building Codes and Standards: Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations (OSHA) and industry standards to ensure compliance.
