Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Innovation Design Unit)

Contract (13 or 26 week options available) | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hour weekly options | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients within a primary nursing care model (1 RN assigned to a designated patient group)
• Operate within nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (days) and 1:5–6 (nights), collaborating with care techs, CNAs, transport team, and swoop/paramedics
• Administer and manage IV drips as required across all assigned floors
• Participate in the testing and validation of innovative care models, technology, and facility design elements within a specialized inpatient unit
• Float frequently to other units and campuses within scope of practice to meet staffing needs
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN license; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled six weeks out)
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
• Proficiency with EPIC charting
• Demonstrated competency with IV drip management
• Current BLS certification
• Willingness and ability to float to various units and campuses as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience working in a Level I Academic Medical Center
• Familiarity with virtual nursing, ambient monitoring, or interactive patient experience technology
