Sr. Principal System Administrator

Job Summary Position: Enterprise IT Systems EngineerLocation: Tucson, Arizona, USAType: On‑site, U.S. citizen required with an active Top Secret security clearance on day one. Responsibilities Maintain, configure, and support enterprise IT systems, including servers, networks, and virtual environments. Monitor system performance and ensure availability, reliability, and security of infrastructure. Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations according to organizational policies. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; provide timely resolution and root cause analysis. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning efforts. Collaborate with cybersecurity and engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., STIGs, RMF). Maintain system documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Qualifications University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship required. Experience administering Windows and/or Linux‑based systems. Experience with system patching, updates, and security configurations and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Preferred Qualifications Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V). Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, STIGs, NIST). Experience with tools such as Splunk, Syslog servers, or endpoint protection platforms. Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python). Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, RHCSA, MCSA). Experience working in regulated or government environments. Benefits Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD.
