About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Traveler experience required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancellation and DNR. Ratios are 1:6 and vary based on acuity. Weekend requirement is 4 shifts per 4 weeks and is flexible. Contract staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. All candidates will be interviewed. Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Unit patient diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, and Venous stasis. Special procedures include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, and other vascular and cardiac surgeries. Special equipment used includes arterial lines, Dopplers, EKG machines, and chest tubes. Important skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias, post-MI care, management of cardiac drips, and chest tube management. Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility. All RTO must be pre-approved. Weekly census is approximately 41 patients. Unit staffing ratios may vary based on shift and patient acuity. Pre-approved time off and floating policies apply.
