Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Zeeland that are seeking skilled Laser Weld Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
• Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld defects.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability.
• Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis to ensure process control.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions and control plans.
• Train production personnel on laser welding techniques and procedures.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in laser welding equipment, including setup, programming, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of material science, metallurgy, and their impact on weld quality for various alloys.
• Experience with weld quality inspection techniques, including destructive and non-destructive testing.
• Ability to analyze weld defects, troubleshoot process issues, and implement corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with fiber laser welding systems.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
• Knowledge of metallography and material characterization techniques.
• Ability to program and troubleshoot robotic welding cells.
