Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry environment where your expertise as a Registered Nurse will support a diverse patient population with complex needs. This contract position requires compassionate, experienced nurses ready to engage in acute and chronic disease management, complex post-surgical care, and advanced telemetry monitoring. The role is ideal for those with a strong medical-surgical foundation who are eager to contribute to a collaborative, teaching hospital environment recognized as a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, and Chest Pain Center.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
• 6-week scheduling cycles
• 5-6 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday shifts required as per rotation
• No on-call required

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years’ Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• BLS required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency on onboarding)
• Telemetry skills—cardiac rhythm monitoring, post-cath, and groin site management
• Competency with insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, Digoxin, nicardipine drips (titrating for HR only)
• Proficient in trach care, chest tube management, IV starts and maintenance, glucommander
• Strong assessment, care coordination, and discharge planning abilities
• Excellent time management and patient education skills
• Med-Surg certification a plus
• Open to first-time travelers

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on busy Med/Surg and Telemetry units
• Float to all Med/Tele units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, discharge nurses, and resource nurse teams
• Utilize Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Pyxis, and other advanced equipment
• Draw blood off central lines; coordinate with PICC, RT, and intensivist teams
• Participate in 1-day facility and 2-day unit orientation
• Engage in patient and family education for discharge readiness
