Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic, high-acuity setting as a MedSurg/Tele RN supporting a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with over 600 licensed beds. This contract opportunity involves caring for a diverse patient population, including post/pre-cardiac and step-down ICU individuals with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. Nurses benefit from strong collegial support, including CNAs, resource nurses, a 24/7 RT team, unit secretaries, and central telemetry.

Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
• Every 6 weeks: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12
• Holiday rotation: one major holiday shift per cycle
• No call

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years’ Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• BLS certification required
• BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm) certification or ability to pass EKG Rhythm exam during onboarding
• ACLS & Med-Surg certification preferred, not required
• Strong skills in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion/care, central line management, wound care, and telemetry interpretation
• Experience managing insulin/heparin drips, but not BP titration
• Effective interdisciplinary care coordination and discharge planning abilities
• First-time travelers welcomed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert care to MedSurg/Telemetry, cardiac, and step-down ICU patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Start and manage IVs, central lines, and provide comprehensive wound care
• Lead patient/family education, especially on renal and fluid management
• Participate actively in discharge planning and transitions of care
• Float to all in-house MedSurg Tele units as needed
