Major Responsibilities Provide clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients (e.g., skin condition, vital signs, mental status). Provide constant observation of high‑risk patients as assigned by the Resource Nurse or designee. Participate in the development and maintenance of a safe environment; utilize de‑escalation interventions and, if necessary, participate in restraints per training and education. Assist patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals and nourishment. Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities Comply with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Attend a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed. Demonstrate use of Quality Improvement in daily operations. Comply with all health and safety regulations and requirements. Respect diverse views and approaches, demonstrate Standards of Respect, and contribute to a professional, tolerant, civil, and accepting environment for all employees, patients, and visitors. Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed. Position Qualifications License/Certification/Education – Required Minimum of a high‑school education or GED. Current Basic Life Support certification. Experience/Skills – Required Demonstrated competency at the PCT II level or 1 year of acute‑care/hospital experience or 1 year of EMT/Paramedic experience. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English clearly and concisely. Knowledge of medical terminology. Computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships within the department and across the organization, and provide exceptional service to patients. Proven problem‑solving abilities for routine situations and ability to request assistance when further direction is needed. Ability to remain calm under stress or in emergency situations. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment. Requires hand dexterity, hearing, and vision to take direction from a patient or provider, adjust equipment, observe and describe patient observations. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is heavily demanding, standing and walking most of the time, with possibility of pushing heavy equipment and bending frequently.
