Referrals Specialist

*Job Summary***
*Responsible for processing referrals and securing insurance authorizations to support timely patient care. Coordinates specialty appointments, diagnostic services, and DME while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across multiple systems and payer guidelines.*
*Key Responsibilities*

* Process and submit authorization requests, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely follow-up on pending items
* Coordinate referrals and schedule services in alignment with provider orders and insurance requirements
* Obtain authorizations via phone, email, fax, and payer portals while adapting to changing processes
* Track referral and authorization status, providing clear updates to patients and care teams
* Maintain accurate documentation in system applications and manage referral closure, including appointment verification and records updates
* Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and payers, resolving inquiries and supporting a positive patient experience
* Meet productivity standards and deadlines while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
