Child Support Case Manager - Entry (Oregon City)

Position: Child Support Case Manager – Entry (Oregon City) Salary Range: $4,124 – $5,714 per month during the first year; $4,833 – $6,713 per month after successful completion of trial service. Job Description As a Child Support Case Manager – Entry, you will review case documents, establish and enforce child support orders, and provide accurate accounting records for support obligations. Responsibilities Review case documents and records to determine need for a child support order. Contact agency customers and service providers to gather information for paternity establishment and support order enforcement. Establish, modify, enforce, and maintain accounting records for child support orders. Apply federal and state laws, rules, and agency policies and procedures. Verify payments are properly disbursed and accuracy of state agency claims against child support. Request, review, and evaluate paternity declarations to initiate action. Complete and file legal documents to establish paternity. Process modification requests. Gather wage and health‑care information, research and apply child‑support guidelines to calculate support obligation. Qualifications Three (3) years of experience working with the public in person or by phone giving information about services and programs and solving customer problems/complaints. Experience with personal computers, web‑based applications, and Microsoft Office. Or a Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for the required experience. Successful completion of a comprehensive employment reference check, fingerprint‑based criminal background check, and, where applicable, a driver history check. Eligibility to meet the minimum qualifications for Child Support Case Manager after one year of successful trial service. Professional experience communicating policies, rules, or laws to the public. Computer‑proficient with a clear ability to learn new systems and methods. Experience using various computer programs to view, enter, edit, and extract information. Ability to independently complete assignments on time. Ability to maintain professional composure, tact, and friendliness while working with potentially irate, hostile, or emotionally distraught individuals.
